First Grade

Hi, I'm Mary Norvell and I teach first grade. This is my 12th year at Dallas City Elementary. Teaching first grade is so much fun! I love how excited the kids are when they begin really reading.

When I 'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I live with my husband, Doug and our two dogs, Blanco ( a great pyrenees /lab mix) and Roho (a red healer /beagle mix. I have two grown children, Molly and Nate and my husband has two grown children, Scott and Stuart. We have two teenage grandsons, Christopher and Isaiah, three in- betweens, Benny, Olivia, and Micah, and the toddlers, Aiden and Jazzy. It can get pretty wild at times.

I have lots of hobbies. I like to read, scrapbook, journal, and make altered books, clothes and jewelry. I also like to play Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Bejeweled , and Free Cell . My only wish is that I had more time.
